Welcome to StephStyle101! I am so excited to be bring you this resource. My goal is to provide fashion and styling tips, to ensure one is dressed for success!
I wanted to share some of my background and reveal how I entered into the fashion blogging world. So here goes!
I grew up in a small Ohio town, went to college in Cincinnati, OH and graduated with a degree in pharmacy. Yes, I am a pharmacist! Funny, right?!?! Anyway, I worked hard in my career serving in the retail pharmacy world and moved on to mail order pharmacy, as a department manager. I really enjoyed my time in both areas of pharmacy practice, but really felt drawn to do something different.
Rewind several years. My husband launched his own business, which was very exciting and scary at the same time. Knowing we had two kids to support and a mortgage to pay, the uncertainty was a bit unnerving at times. But he worked like a dog, rocked it out and is now quite successful.
As I mentioned, I knew I wanted to diversify my career path, focusing on education of others in the fashion “how to” world. Just a bit different from pharmacy, right?? Still with this vision, I was waiting for the right time to take the plunge.
One day, just chatting with the hubs, he said he would support me 100% with my new venture. The practical part of me was thinking….“I AM CRAZY! I can’t in my right mind, stop making a paycheck that was consistently deposited in our bank account every two weeks!?!? This is just NUTS!”. But is there ever really the “right” time to jump? So, I took a huge leap of faith, quit my job with a very dependable income and birthed StephStyle101!
Thank you for sharing this adventure with me! I consider myself blessed beyond measure to be living out my dream, bringing you all along for the ride.
